Hiragana is one of Japan's three writing systems, alongside katakana and kanji. Each character stands for a sound, so it's the building block for reading and writing Japanese. The name means something like "flowing" or "simple" kana, and you can see why in its soft, curvy strokes. This Japanese hiragana chart poster looks great on the wall and helps you study at the same time.
